Open car transport
The way most cars ship: on an open multi-car carrier, door to door — the best balance of price and speed for everyday vehicles.
Open transport is what you see on the highway — a hauler carrying up to nine vehicles on an open trailer. It is the most common and most affordable option, and it moves the vast majority of cars safely every day.
With ShiftHaul, an open-transport booking includes the same carrier verification as every other load: we confirm the assigned carrier by SMS to their FMCSA-registered phone, pull their insurance directly from the agent, capture the driver’s location at pickup, and check the truck’s VIN plate against the carrier’s insured vehicles.

Best value
The most cost-effective way to ship a running vehicle, priced from what carriers are actually paid on your route — no lowball hooks.
-
Door to door
Your car is picked up and delivered as close to your address as the truck can safely reach.
-
Verified carrier, included
Every open-transport load is carrier-verified — included, never an upsell.
Every load comes with a verified carrier.
The thing many brokers skip — we confirm exactly who has your car, from sources the carrier doesn’t control.

Good to know
Is open transport safe for my car?
Yes. Open carriers move the majority of vehicles in the country every day. Your car is secured to the trailer and covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance (ShiftHaul itself doesn’t insure vehicles), which we confirm with their agent before pickup.
When should I choose enclosed instead?
Consider enclosed transport for a classic, exotic, or high-value vehicle you want shielded from road spray and weather. For most daily drivers, open transport is the sensible choice.
