1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Shipment details: pickup and delivery addresses, ZIP codes, dates, and the names and phone numbers of the people who will hand over or receive the vehicle.
  • Vehicle details: year, make, model, type, running condition and, when needed for the shipment, the VIN.
  • Booking details: your chosen payment method (Card or Pay on Delivery), add-ons, the confirmations you check before booking, and your electronic signature on the Customer Shipping Agreement.
  • Messages: what you write to us by email, text message, or through forms, and what you tell us on the phone.

Payment card information

Card details are entered directly into a secure form provided by our payment processor, Stripe. ShiftHaul never sees or stores your full card number or security code. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as the card brand, last four digits, expiration date, and a customer reference, so we can charge the card as described in the Customer Shipping Agreement. Stripe’s privacy policy is at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the site that referred you, and date and time of visits.
  • Records of your agreement: when you confirm the booking terms, authorize your card, or sign the Customer Shipping Agreement, we record the date, time, IP address, and the exact text or version you agreed to. We keep this as proof of the agreement.
  • Browser storage and cookies: see Section 6.

Calls and text messages

We keep records of calls and texts with us, such as phone numbers, dates, times, and message content. We may record and transcribe phone calls for quality, training, and to keep an accurate record of what was agreed. When a call is recorded, you will hear a notice at the start of the call.

Information from others

The carrier transporting your vehicle may send us shipment updates, pickup and delivery details, photos, and inspection or Bill of Lading information.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • give you a price and prepare your booking;
  • arrange your shipment, assign a carrier, and coordinate pickup and delivery;
  • prepare, send, and store your Customer Shipping Agreement and electronic signature;
  • charge your card as described in the Customer Shipping Agreement (Stripe processes the payment);
  • send you order updates by email, phone, or text message;
  • email you reminders if you started a booking and did not finish it (you can unsubscribe from these at any time);
  • answer your questions and handle claims, disputes, and chargebacks;
  • verify carriers and prevent fraud and misuse of our services;
  • keep business records required by law, including federal broker record-keeping rules;
  • measure how our website and advertising perform and improve them.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with lead sellers, other brokers, or data brokers.

We share personal information only as follows:

  • The carrier assigned to your shipment (including its dispatcher and driver): names, phone numbers, addresses, dates, and vehicle details needed to pick up and deliver your vehicle.
  • Service providers that work for us under contract and only for our purposes: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, phone and text messaging, cloud hosting, our customer records system, and internal messaging tools our team uses for order notifications.
  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Google and Meta, through cookies and similar tools on our website (see Section 6).
  • Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, court orders, or requests from government authorities, including the FMCSA; to handle damage claims with carriers and insurers; and to protect our rights, customers, and the public.
  • Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

4. Text messages (SMS)

  • Order messages. When you give us your phone number for a quote or booking, we may text you about that order: quote and booking details, carrier assignment, driver arrival times, pickup and delivery, and payment notices.
  • Optional messages. We send reminders about unfinished quotes and promotional offers by text only if you separately agree. This consent is not a condition of purchase.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact [email protected] or (260) 800-6747.
  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with, sold, or rented to any third party. The sharing described in Section 3 does not include text messaging opt-in data or consent.

5. Emails

We email you about your quote and order, your Customer Shipping Agreement, and payments. If you started a booking and did not finish it, we may send up to three reminder emails. Every reminder email has an unsubscribe link. Messages about an active order are not affected by unsubscribing from reminders.

6. Cookies, browser storage, and advertising

  • Browser storage. Our quote form saves your progress in your browser so you don’t lose it between steps.
  • Advertising and analytics. We use tools from advertising partners such as Google (Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure which ads bring visitors and bookings and to show our ads to people who visited our site. These partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our site and on other websites over time.
  • Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can limit personalized ads at https://adssettings.google.com, in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and at https://optout.aboutads.info.
  • Do Not Track. Our website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

7. How long we keep information

We keep shipment records, including your agreement, signature records, and payment records, for at least three years, as federal broker record-keeping rules require, and longer when needed for claims, disputes, taxes, or legal obligations. We keep quote requests that do not become shipments only as long as reasonably needed, then delete or anonymize them.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption on our website, limit access to personal information to people who need it for their work, and rely on Stripe for card processing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and requests

You may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your information, except what we must keep by law or to complete a shipment, handle a claim, or resolve a dispute;
  • stop marketing emails or texts.

Email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may reply to ask us to reconsider. Some states give their residents additional privacy rights. We will honor valid requests as those laws require.

10. Information about other people

If you give us information about someone else, such as a person who will hand over or receive the vehicle, you confirm that they agree to us using it to complete the shipment.

11. Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other websites

Our website may link to other websites, such as Stripe or FMCSA. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If we make significant changes, we will also post a notice on our website or email customers with active orders.
