SUVs, pickups and vans cost more than a sedan; enclosed is +$450 per vehicle and a car that doesn’t run is +$150. To Florida or Texas, most trips of this length take about 3–5 days on the road once the car is picked up; your dispatcher gives you an honest pickup window. Try your own ZIP codes in the calculator.
The car doesn’t come to our office
As a broker we don’t keep cars or trucks at the office. The carrier picks up at your address — your driveway, your workplace, a dealership lot — and you don’t drive anywhere. If a long car carrier can’t safely reach your street, the carrier may meet you at a nearby safe location.
We arrange pickup across Allen County and the towns around it: New Haven, Huntington, Auburn, Columbia City, Decatur and the rest of northeast Indiana.
Roads out of Fort Wayne
- I-69 runs north to the Michigan line and southwest to Indianapolis, where it meets I-65, I-70 and I-74.
- I-469 loops about 31 miles around the south and east sides of the city and carries US 24, US 30 and US 33 past Fort Wayne.
- US 24 heads northeast as a four-lane highway into Ohio toward Toledo, where it meets I-75 — the main road to Florida’s peninsula.
- US 30 runs west through Warsaw, Plymouth and Valparaiso to the Illinois line, and east into Ohio.
The carrier chooses the route based on every car on the truck; your price depends on the distance between your two addresses.
Auctions in Fort Wayne
IAA and Copart both have yards in the city: IAA Fort Wayne on the southeast side near I-469, and Copart Fort Wayne. If you bought a car at either one, we can arrange a carrier to collect it — tell us the yard when you book. Buying for a dealership? See auction transport for business.
Heading south for the winter
Fort Wayne snowbirds usually send the car to Florida between October and December and bring it back between March and May. Fall prices heading south are often higher. A quote is held for 7 days; once you sign, Price Lock protects it — if the carrier’s rate goes up before pickup, we cover up to $200 per vehicle. Route guides: Indiana to Florida and Florida to Indiana.
Who carries your car
On every load we verify the carrier: an SMS to their FMCSA phone, insurance from the agent, the driver’s location at pickup, and a VIN-plate check against the carrier’s insured vehicles. See how our verification works. Once your car is picked up, we share the driver’s name and phone. The car is covered by the assigned carrier’s cargo insurance, at least $100,000.
You don’t pay to get a quote or to book. After a carrier is assigned, a $150 deposit goes on your card — it’s part of your total. The rest is charged at pickup, or paid to the driver at delivery (cash, Zelle, Venmo or cashier’s check) if you choose pay on delivery.
